Mrs. Bolus is an instructor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. Prior to working at UAB, she served as a registered nurse at Children's of Alabama on the inpatient Hematology/ Oncology/ Bone Marrow Transplant Units. Educating new graduate nurses and precepting nursing students quickly became one of her favorite parts of her job at Children's, prompting her to return to her alma mater, Samford University, to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Nursing Education. She joined the UAB School of Nursing full time in January 2019 and teaches in the pre-licensure portion of the AMNP and BSN programs. Research interests include innovative teaching and evaluation strategies, the use of simulation in education, and interprofessional education. She is married to a pharmacist in the Birmingham area and enjoys making interprofessional collaboration part of her everyday life!
