Lisa Theus is the Global Partnerships Program Manager at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Since 2011 she has worked on several projects including the International Leadership in Nursing Program, the Global Health Professional Fellows Program, the International Scholars Program, and projects associated with the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center for International Nursing. Lisa also serves on the board of directors for MedHope Africa, a faith-based non-profit serving sub-Saharan Africa. She has a Masters of Science degree in Public Health with a focus on global health. Her passion is healthcare access for vulnerable populations. Prior to her work at UAB, she coordinated health services for the Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant community at the Jefferson County Department of Health in Birmingham for 10 years, and co-founded ¡HICA!, the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama.
