Dr. Sameer Mahadeorao Naranje is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAB. His clinical interests include adult hip and knee disorders, arthritis and fracture care. He specializes in hip and knee surgery including total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. Dr. Naranje utilizes less-invasive surgical techniques, and speedy recovery programs. He is currently director of fracture fragility care program at UAB which involves comprehensive care of geriatric patients who have fractures related to osteoporosis. He is active in joint and bone research and has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and text books. Dr. Naranje is also an editorial board member /reviewer for many reputed orthopaedic journals. Dr. Naranje has completed his adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He has also completed advanced orthopaedic surgery trainings at Campbell Clinic, UAB and AIIMS, New Delhi after earning his medical degree from Government Medical College, Nagpur, India. He is a member of multiple professional societies in orthopaedics including American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow, UK). His clinical research work has been presented and recognized internationally in multiple conferences. He has extensive experience in teaching medical students, residents and medical staff during his multiple years of clinical practice and fellowship training.
