Bacterial vaginosis (BV) was diagnosed in 72.5% of female participants. Among women with BV, 33.1% were colonized with yeast. Vulvovaginal candidiasis was observed in 15.7% of participants irrespective of BV status. Overall, the prevalence of BV/vulvovaginal candidiasis mixed infections among young women was observed to be 4.4%. © 2011 American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association All rights reserved.
