Domain-splitting methods for geometrically complex flows.



  • There are many flow geometries for which suitable coordinate systems cannot be constructed. Multiply connected regions and irregular three dimensional shapes pose particular difficulties. A domain splitting method is presented as a way to simulate flows in geometrically complex domains. The incompressible Navier Stokes equations govern the flows of interest. The emphasis is on the inter subdomain communication processes required for accurate solutions.
