IT consultancies represent a unique twist on the communication issue, because they solve their clients' communication problems. However, to be effective, these consultancies must take their own advice. In developing solutions to the communication gap, companies must consider the larger picture of their corporate objectives, the respective missions of individual units or groups within the company, and the human needs of individual employees. By properly identifying the needs and objectives prior to redesigning the communications infrastructure, companies can effectively develop a robust solution that incorporates technology, nontechnical methods, and procedural changes.
