It is apparent that both ultrasound and CT are accurate, noninvasive methods for examination of pancreatic disease. Neither CT nor ultrasound has been proven to be clearly superior to the other in all patients and in all pancreatic diseases. Based on our own experience and that of others, we propose a scheme as a reference for the work-up of patients with suspected pancreatic disease.
