Abstract

  • Substance abuse is a relatively common problem facing persons with traumatic brain injury and often contributes to difficulties gaining and maintaining employment. To assist vocational rehabilitation professionals, information is presented regarding commonly used terminology, pre- and postinjury levels of substance abuse, and assessment methodologies. Guidelines for policy development and implementation as well as education and prevention efforts are described. © 1991 Aspen Publishers, Inc.
