Use of Ca (OH)2 for measuring microleakage

Academic Article

  • Microleakage of restorative materials and luting agents traditionally has been carried out in the laboratory. This study deals with the use of calcium hydroxide (Dycal) as an agent to monitor microleakage. Based on the evaluation of 3 types of amalgams and an acrylic resin, it was shown that calcium hydroxide can be considered for use as an in vitro microleakage detection agent. © 1986 Munksgaard International Publishers Ltd.
