Incidence, Clinical Features, and Outcomes of Langerhans Cell Sarcoma in the United States

Academic Article

Abstract

  • A retrospective registry-based study aimed to determine the epidemiology, therapeutic approaches, and survival outcomes of Langerhans cell sarcoma (LCS) in the United States. LCS is a rare neoplasm with an incidence of 0.2 per 10,000,000 population. Although the data regarding optimal management of LCS are limited, our study demonstrated that surgery and radiotherapy may offer a survival advantage in patients with locoregional disease without bone marrow and reticuloendothelial system involvement.
