The collagen vascular diseases are characterized by a myriad of clinical features including pleuropulmonary manifestations. Many of the collagen vascular diseases can have interstitial lung disease as a prominent clinical manifestation. This article summarizes those collagen vascular diseases that have interstitial lung disease and provides a diagnostic approach toward the patient with interstitial lung disease and a suspected collagen vascular disease.
