Early Childhood Visual Arts Curriculum.

Academic Article

  • The article focuses on the importance of a visual arts curriculum in early childhood education in the U.S. The position of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) on teaching the visual arts is presented. Visual arts naturally encourage young children to raise questions, which is the nature of thought development, while art education nurtures in young students a sense of knowledge about themselves in connection to the world. The connection of art to history, geography, culture and history is also discussed.
