Academic Article

  • Diagnosis of takotsubo cardiomyopathy can be made after pheochromocytomas have been ruled out. Catecholamines are currently considered pathogenetic in takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Various types of cardiomyopathy, both dilated and hypertrophic are seen with pheochromocytomas.
