NMR linebroadening studies of transition metal complexes in acetonitrile solution

  • 1H variable temperature NMR linebroadening studies of several first row transition metal ions (Cu2+, Ni2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Mn2+ and Cr3+) in acetonitrile solution were made and the results were analyzed using the Swift-Connick formalism. The kinetic results of these studies were compared to previous results on the same system using 14N NMR. The study also reexamined previously reported 1H NMR work on metal ion-acetonitrile solutions where disagreement has been noted in the literature. © 1980.
