Progressive Intracranial Arterial Occlusion Syndrome: Report of a Case with Unusually High Ophthalmodynamometry (ODM) Values

Academic Article

  • The syndrome of multiple progressive intracranial arterial occlusions in young people, previously reported in the Japanese literature, has recently been described as occurring in the United States. We report the case of a patient with the typical combination of psychiatric, neurologic, and ophthalmologic manifestations which makes this syndrome an entity that may be referred to the ophthalmologist for evaluation. Possible reasons are discussed for the unusually high ophthalmodynamometry values observed in our patient. © 1971, American Medical Association. All rights reserved.
