Atherosclerosis of the brachiocephalic artery is not generally recognized as a cause of amaurosis fugax. Five such cases are reported. Three patients underwent surgery and remain asymptomatic. One was lost to follow-up; another was receiving oral medication and remained asymptomatic for the 12-month follow-up period.
