Peter Pfluger is Visiting Instructor of Management and Internship Coordinator in the MISQ Department at UAB’s Collat School of Business. While at UAB, he has taught MBA and undergraduate level courses in Management, Project Management, and Innovation, both in face-to-face and online settings. Mr. Pfluger returned to teaching in 2016 after a successful career in senior executive roles with major print media organizations in various parts of the United States. He previously taught at Penn State University while earning his MBA degree with a dual emphasis in Finance and Logistics. His executive leadership experience in print media management included positions with Advance Central Services Southeast (publishers of 4 newspapers in Alabama and Mississippi), The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News, The San Antonio Express-News, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette among others. He has strong general management skills and was exposed to several significant cross-functional leadership roles while in the print media industry. He has had broad-based, practical exposure to all areas of management, including finance, strategic planning, budgeting, project management, sales, marketing, logistics, staff development, and mentoring. He liberally shares his career experiences in the classroom to illustrate concepts and to enrich the learning experience.
