Overview

Dr. Lawson is a general dentist with a PhD in the field of bioengineering. He conducts clinical and laboratory testing of dental materials, teaches and lectures internationally on clinical applications of dental materials, and works as a general dentist in the UAB Faculty Practice.

Laboratory testing of biomaterials including: mechanical properties (strength, wear), applied properties (crown fracture strength, crown retention strength, bond strength), esthetic properties (translucency, gloss, staining), surface properties (contact angle, surface roughness, SEM evaluation), and bioactive properties (ion release, artificial caries models).
