Mouhamed Amr Sabouni, MD, MS, is an interventional and structural cardiologist who manages patients with coronary artery disease, valvular and structural heart disease. Dr. Sabouni has received advanced training in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitral valve intervention MitraClip, left atrial appendage occluders implant, paravalvular leak, congenital transcatheter intervention along with other valvular and structural procedures.
Dr.Sabouni has been a cornerstone in the pulmonary embolism response team (PERT) and advanced mechanical support team performing all types of thrombectomy procedures, catheter directed thrombolysis and placing/managing ECMO cannulas.
Dr.Sabouni received his medical degree from University of Aleppo, Syria, and he received his master of science in clinical research degree from Drexel University. He did his internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology training in upstate NY and West Virginia prior to joining UAB for advanced coronary and structural heart training.
