Overview

  • A postdoctoral researcher position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Lufang Zhou in the Department of Medicine. We seek a motivated and creative individual to employ an innovative mitochondrial-targeted luminoptogenetics approach developed in the laboratory to specifically induce cardiomyocyte mitochondrial depolarization, and explore its acute and chronic effect on cardiac functions. This is a NIH funded R01 project.

    The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop their own research within the overall goals of this project, and to take advantage of the career development opportunities offered by the UAB Office of Postdoctoral Education (https://www.uab.edu/postdocs/).
