Overview

  • Currently, Senior Associate Dean and Professor of Marketing in the Collat School of Business (CSOB) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Kennedy had over 10 years of marketing management experience prior to earning her PhD. from the University of South Florida, an M.B.A. from Georgia State University, and an M.S. from Florida State University (US). As Sr Associate Dean, Dr. Kennedy leads work in academic programs both at the graduate and undergraduate levels as well as Professional Education. The development of corporate partnerships, online programs, professional education, new majors, certificates, and new paths for graduation have been an important part of the growth at CSOB and her administrative accomplishments.

    Dr. Kennedy’s broad range of marketing experiences forms the basis for her teaching, research, and work with organizations. Integrating the needs of customers, employees, and management to create value has been a key element of her work. She has research published in Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, among other outlets. Her current research and professional interests involve measurement of cultural shifts in organizations, and evolution of customers’ roles in organizational settings.

    Prior to joining the faculty at University of Alabama at Birmingham, she was on faculty at the University of New Orleans and the University of South Florida. Her teaching interest are Marketing Strategy, Personal Selling, Sales Management, Negotiation, and Professional Development at the undergraduate, MBA and Executive levels.
