Overview

  • Specialties: Smith specializes in health promotion and wellness utilizing advanced data analysis and statistics, research methodology and design, programmatic evaluation, and assessment. She leads several teams through the design and execution of research agendas, capacity assessments, annual evaluation plans, methodological design and consultations, and other products and services to systematize and advance objectives through evidence-based practices. Smith values being solution-oriented, always questioning the status quo and finding ways to innovate and elevate where she sees opportunities to raise the bar.

  • Areas of interest: lifestyle and wellness health promotion - both physical and mental health, specifically integrative behavioral health; practice transformation value-based care; youth sports injury prevention.

    Research skills and expertise: experimental design, survey design and validation, project management, data cleaning/screening and database design, advanced data analysis, visualization, presentation, and communication of statistical output.

  • Teaching Overview

  • As an educator and mentor, Smith aims to intentionally facilitate a relevant learning environment - whether that be through an environment that is active, collaborative, or goal-oriented, understanding the concepts must be meaningful for each student. One of her goals as an educator and mentor is to provide her students with the necessary skills and knowledge to make informed decisions and act in real-life situations. Additionally, she wish to inspire students to share her enthusiasm for learning and encourage building new skills which they can use to improve themselves and their community for a lifetime.
