Dr. Buys is an Instructor in the Family Nurse Practitioner Track. She is dually trained in Nursing and Public Health (Health Behavior). Her teaching and clinical interests lie at the intersection of clinical practice and public health/ disease prevention. She understands that an important part of nursing education is training students to empower patients to take control of their health and to educate the public on how they can prevent disease through healthy lifestyles. Dr. Buys’ primary clinical interest is in diabetes management.
