Jason Vice is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. He is certified in gerontology education through the UAB Comprehensive Center for Healthy Aging and low vision through the UAB Low Vision Rehabilitation Graduate program. Dr. Vice teaches foundational coursework in the entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program related to gross anatomy, low vision rehabilitation , and neuroscience. He is a member of the American Association of Anatomists, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Dr. Vice's clinical practice centers on patient care at the UAB Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation. Treatment is focused on assisting patients with vision loss from eye disease and/or brain injury to maintain and increase independence and participation in activities of daily living. He holds Specialty Certification in Low Vision from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
His research focuses on neuroplasticty in older adults and functional impairment of neurodegenerative diseases on vision-dependent occupations.
