Research Overview

  • Ciliopathies affect very specific tissues while most of the disease-causing genes are ubiquitously expressed in almost every cell types. My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of this pleiotropic effect in ciliopathies using complementary modeling systems of pluripotent stem cell-derived organoid culture systems and.mouse models. I am also interested in utilizing biochemical and bioengineering approaches to improve the organoid culture systems to generate a more comprehensive in vitro model.
