    Andrew Butler, Dean

    Dr. Butler joined UAB in 2019 as the Dean of the School of Health Professions.

    Butler received his Ph.D. in motor control from the University of Iowa. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Iowa, at Texas Women’s University in Houston and at Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany. He has held positions at Georgia State University 2012-2019 and Emory University School of Medicine 2001-2012.

    Jennifer Braswell Christy, PT, PhD is Associate Professor and DPT Program Director at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Christy also serves as the Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs for the School of Health Professions.     My thesis involved the application of logistic regression to determine the factors which best predict students’ continued enrollment for a population of first-time, full-time freshmen enrolling in the summer and fall terms of 2007. The models tested fifteen factors across a four-year span and illuminated the statistically significant factors for predicting persistence of students at an urban, public, very high research activity, university.
