Shannon Stephens, Critical Care Paramedic, has worked in EMS for over 25 years. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Director of the Alabama Resuscitation Center. He also serves as a Research Scientist for the UAB Center for Cardiovascular Biology, and formerly with the UAB Center for Disaster Preparedness. Dr. Kerby was named director of the Division of Acute Care Surgery in November 2014. A native of Missouri, Dr. Kerby received both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1989.
