Brianna Miller, MS, MLS(ASCP)CM,SBB-CM is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program within the Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences Department. She graduated from Judson College with her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, followed by her Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also earned her advanced certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking. After beginning her career at UAB Hospital in the Transfusion Medicine Service as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, she quickly moved into the position of Antibody Specialist. Eventually, she moved to the academic side of UAB and became a laboratory teacher in the CLS program, where she advanced to Assistant Professor. Teaching activities within in the CLS program include Immunohematology, Hemostasis, Clinical Correlations, Clinical Practice, and Professional Skills. Outside the CLS program, Brianna also teaches the Transfusion Medicine residents at UAB Hospital, Clinical Laboratory Medicine with Physician Assistant students, and various aspects of laboratory medicine to Optometry, Physical Therapy, Biomedical Sciences, and Biomedical and Health Sciences students. Brianna also serves as the Admissions Coordinator for the CLS program and the advisor for the Biomedical Sciences Fast Track and Certificate in Clinical Laboratory Science.
