Dr. Bryan Garcia received his undergraduate degree from The University of Notre Dame and subsequently received his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. He then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida. Following this he completed his fellowship at UAB in the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Division. He took his first faculty position at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC as an Assistant Professor. In 2021 he returned to UAB as an Assistant Professor of Medicine where he specializes in the treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial lung infections including mycobacterium avium complex and mycobacterium abscesses, and his primary academic interest is in antimicrobial therapeutic development and the host immune response to these infections. In addition to seeing patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial infections, Dr. Garcia sees patients with cystic fibrosis and non-CF related bronchiectasis.
