Research Overview

  • My research interests lie in the area of metabolism of physiologically active compounds, in particular, fat-soluble vitamins and steroid hormones. My research is focused on the enzymes that control interconversion of vitamin A metabolites, and regulate cellular levels of its physiologically active derivatives, such as retinoic acid. I have a particular interest in the evolution of protein families involved in the retinoic acid biosynthesis pathway.
