Dr. Casselman completed his PhD at the University of Utah, implementing metacognitive training, the flipped classroom, and other active learning methods in the general chemistry classroom. He was hired by the UAB chemistry department in 2018 as an organic chemistry instructor and laboratory coordinator. He currently is working to implement the flipped classroom, metacognitive training, and other active learning strategies in the organic classroom. Additionally, as the organic laboratory coordinator, he is working on the implementation of guided inquiry labs in the organic lab setting.
