• Dr. Chakraborti is an Instructor in the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the UAB Department of Surgery. He also serves as the Managing Director of the UAB Behavioral Assessment Core. Dr. Chakraborti received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University of Delhi, India, and subsequently obtained postdoctoral training at National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and at the Department of Neurosurgery, University of California, San Francisco. He has also received advanced training in space radiation biology research at NASA. Dr. Chakraborti has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine, Monash University, Malaysia, and as an Assistant Consultant at the Innovation Labs, Tata Consultancy Services, India. Dr. Chakraborti‚Äôs current research interests involve understanding the mechanisms by which stress and gastrointestinal inflammation affect behavioral and brain function.
