Dr. Topkara graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry with D.D.S. in 2000. She then completed a Ph.D. and specialty program in Orthodontics at Selcuk University Faculty of Dentistry in Konya, Turkey, in 2007. She worked as a research fellow and teaching assistant at the same institution in the orthodontic department. After working as an orthodontist at her own clinic in Alanya, Turkey, Dr. Topkara was appointed as the Chairman and Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at Istanbul Aydin University. Upon moving to the U.S, Dr. Topkara first worked as a research fellow at Penn Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Then, she graduated from the International Dentist Program (IDP) at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry with a D.M.D. in 2021. She started working as an Assistant Professor right after her graduation.
