    Research Overview

  • Medical education and curriculum development with emphasis on the use of technology in undergraduate and graduate medical education

Maternal and fetal/neonatal infections and inflammatory response including response to vaginal organisms (bacterial vaginosis) and periodontal disease. Particular emphasis is on the role of the mucosal immune system in adverse pregnancy outcome including infection-related spontaneous preterm birth and fetal/neonatal morbidity.
